We will hold our Annual General Meeting at Dennes Point Hall on Saturday 18 October 2025, starting at 10am. The AGM will be followed by a General Meeting, and all members and community friends are warmly invited to attend.
At 11am, FONB we are proud to host the inaugural Gerard Castles Oration, to be delivered by Dr Tonia Cochran OAM. Tonia, founder of Inala Nature Tours and a leading Tasmanian naturalist, will speak on “What makes Bruny Island and Tasmania so special.”

The Oration has been established in honour of Gerard Castles, a much-loved former FONB Committee Member and passionate environmental champion, who passed away earlier this year. The event will be a fitting tribute to Gerard’s lifelong commitment to Tasmania’s natural and cultural heritage.
Everyone is welcome to attend what promises to be a memorable morning of reflection, learning, and community connection.
